The RRB NTPC 10+2 Level exam is conducted in two computer-based stages (CBT-1 and CBT-2).

CBT-1 Syllabus Overview

1. General Awareness:
Questions come from topics like:

  • Current Events of National and International Importance
  • History, Geography, Indian Polity & Constitution
  • General Science (up to 10th level)
  • Economy, Indian Railways Facts
  • Sports, Awards, Famous Personalities
  • Basic Computer and Internet Awareness

2. Mathematics:
Covers basic arithmetic and numerical topics like:

  • Number System, Decimals, Fractions
  • LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion
  • Percentage, Mensuration
  • Time and Work, Time and Distance
  • Profit and Loss, Simple and Compound Interest
  • Elementary Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry

3. General Intelligence & Reasoning:
Tests your logical and analytical thinking with topics like:

  • Coding-Decoding, Analogies
  • Series (Alphabetical & Number)
  • Classification, Puzzles
  • Syllogism, Venn Diagram, Direction Test
  • Data Sufficiency and Decision Making

Stage 2: 2nd Computer-Based Test (CBT-2)

This is the main test and is slightly tougher than CBT-1.
Marks obtained in this stage decide your final merit position (before skill test or DV).

CBT-2 Syllabus Overview

The syllabus for CBT-2 is almost the same as CBT-1, but the difficulty level is slightly higher.
More questions test application and accuracy rather than just basic knowledge.

Typing Skill Test (CBTST)

This test applies to:

  • Junior Clerk cum Typist
  • Accounts Clerk cum Typist

Typing Criteria

  • English: 30 words per minute
  • Hindi: 25 words per minute
  • Conducted on a personal computer (no spell-check tool allowed).
  • Only qualifying in nature — marks not added to the final merit list.

Document Verification & Medical Test

After CBT-2 (and typing test, if applicable), shortlisted candidates go through:

  • Document Verification (DV): Check of original certificates (educational, caste, etc.)
  • Medical Examination: Conducted by Railway Medical Board to check fitness for the job role.
