The State Bank of India (SBI) has released the notification for the Clerk (Junior Associate – Customer Support & Sales) recruitment 2025.
This year, SBI has announced a total of 6,589 vacancies across different states and categories.
It is one of the most awaited banking exams in India, offering job security, growth opportunities, and attractive perks.
Vacancy Details
The SBI Clerk 2025 notification has announced a total of 6,589 vacancies for the post of Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales) across different branches in India.
- 5,180 Regular Vacancies – Fresh openings for the year 2025.
- 1,409 Backlog Vacancies – Unfilled posts carried forward from previous recruitment cycles.
These vacancies are further distributed state-wise and category-wise to ensure representation from all regions of India. This means candidates can only apply for the vacancies available in the state/UT they are eligible for, and they must be proficient in that region’s local language.
Category-wise Reservation
SBI provides reservations as per Government of India norms. This includes SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), EWS, and PwBD categories. The backlog vacancies are primarily meant to fill the shortfall in these reserved categories.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for SBI Clerk 2025, candidates must fulfill the following conditions:

Application Fee
Candidates need to pay the application fee while submitting the online form. The fee is non-refundable and can be paid using debit/credit card, net banking, or UPI.

How to Apply
Candidates can apply online through the SBI Careers portal between 6 and 26 August 2025. The steps are:
- Visit the official SBI website: sbi.co.in/careers.
- Go to “Current Openings” → Select “Recruitment of Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales) 2025”.
- Click on “Apply Online” and register using your email ID and phone number.
- Fill in personal, academic, and communication details.
- Upload scanned copies of photo, signature, thumb impression, and handwritten declaration (as per given format).
- Pay the application fee online:
- ₹750 – for General, OBC, EWS candidates
- No fee – for SC, ST, PwBD candidates
- Submit the form and take a printout for reference.
Selection Process
- Preliminary Examination: Qualifying in nature; covers English, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning.
- Main Examination: Counts toward final merit—includes multiple sections and carries weight in selection.
- Language Proficiency Test (LPT): Final stage focused on the local language of the state applied for. Clearing LPT is mandatory for appointment
Only Mains marks are considered for the final merit list; Prelims marks are not counted
