Eligibility Criteria (Simplified)

To apply for the UPPSC Assistant Teacher (TGT) Exam, candidates must meet the following conditions:

Educational Qualification:

  • You must have a graduate degree (Bachelor’s) in the subject you are applying for, from a recognized university or institute.
  • B.Ed. degree (recognized by NCTE) is compulsory for all teaching posts.
  • For the Computer Teacher post:
    • You must have a B.Tech or B.Sc. in Computer Science / IT, OR
    • Equivalent qualification from NIELIT or another recognized institute.

Age Limit (as on 1 July 2025):

  • Minimum age: 21 years
  • Maximum age: 40 years
  • Age relaxations apply for reserved categories:
    • SC/ST/OBC: +5 years
    • PwBD (Divyang): +15 years
    • Other categories as per government norms

Selection Process – UPPSC Assistant Teacher (TGT)

The selection process for the UPPSC Assistant Teacher (Trained Graduate Grade) exam is straightforward. It mainly includes a written exam followed by document verification.

  1. Written Exam (Preliminary)
    • This is an objective-type test.
    • It includes questions from your chosen subject and General Knowledge.
    • Your marks in this exam will decide your place in the final merit list.
  2. Document Verification
    • If you clear the written test, you will be called for document verification.
    • You must bring all original certificates related to education, reservation, and eligibility.
    • Final selection will depend on your written exam score and valid documents.

  1. Complete One Time Registration (OTR):
    • Visit the official OTR portal: https://otr.pariksha.nic.in
    • Register yourself using your basic details like name, mobile number, email ID, and Aadhar.
    • After successful registration, you will get an OTR Number—this is mandatory before applying for any UPPSC post.
  2. Apply Online:
    • Go to the official UPPSC website: https://uppsc.up.nic.in
    • Click on “Apply Online” under the Assistant Teacher TGT Recruitment 2025 section.
    • Log in using your OTR number and complete the application form.
  3. Upload Documents:
    • Upload scanned copies of your photo, signature, academic certificates, caste/PwD certificates (if applicable), etc.
  4. Pay the Application Fee:
    • Use Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or UPI to pay the required fee (amount depends on your category).
  5. Final Submission & Printout:
    • Check all the details you’ve entered carefully.
