The GATE 2027 syllabus and exam pattern have been released by IIT Madras, the organizing institute for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2027.

How Many Questions Are Asked in GATE 2027?

Important Changes in GATE 2027 Syllabus

Yes. A candidate can appear for one or up to two GATE 2027 papers. However, candidates cannot freely select any two papers they want.

After choosing a primary paper, the second paper must be selected from the combinations permitted by GATE.

Candidates need to submit only one application form. If they want to appear for a second paper, it should be added to the same application. Multiple applications should not be submitted.

GATE 2027 Exam Duration

The normal duration of the GATE 2027 examination is 3 hours or 180 minutes.

Eligible PwD candidates may receive compensatory time according to the applicable disability rules and required certificates.

For specified categories such as blindness, locomotor disability involving both arms and cerebral palsy, an additional hour can be requested with valid disability documentation.

Other specified disabilities may also qualify where the required functional-limitation certificate is provided.

Is a Calculator Allowed in GATE 2027?

Candidates cannot carry a physical calculator into the examination hall.

A virtual scientific calculator will be available on the computer screen during the examination.

Candidates will also be provided a scribble pad for rough calculations. Only one scribble pad can be kept at a time; the existing pad must be returned before another is issued.
