Up Scholarship 2025–26 – Easy Guide for Students

The UP Scholarship is a financial support program by the Uttar Pradesh government to help students continue their education without money worries.

It covers various levels—from Class 9 to postgraduate studies. The scheme is open to students from different categories including SC, ST, OBC, Minority, and General communities, ensuring that no deserving student is left behind.

By providing direct financial aid, it reduces the burden of tuition fees, books, and living expenses, and motivates students to focus on their studies.

Who Can Apply?

  • Must be a permanent resident of UP.
  • Must be studying in a recognized school or college in UP (or outside the state under specific categories).
  • Income limits apply:
    • General/OBC/EWS: Family income ≤ ₹2 lakh–2.5 lakh/year
    • SC/ST: Family income ≤ ₹2.5 lakh/year

How Much Money Can You Get?

The UP Scholarship 2025–26 provides different financial assistance based on the student’s category and level of study. The money is directly transferred to the student’s bank account through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).

For Pre-Matric students (Class 9–10), the amount ranges from ₹150 to ₹225 per month, along with a one-time allowance of ₹750.

For Post-Matric Intermediate students (Class 11–12), eligible SC/ST students receive ₹230 per month plus ₹1,200 annually.

Students in higher studies (UG, PG, Diploma, PhD, etc.) get more support—₹550 per month for day scholars and ₹1,200 per month for hostellers.

The scholarship is usually disbursed between June and July 2025, ensuring timely financial aid for the academic year.

How to Apply – Step by Step

  1. Visit the official UP Scholarship portal: scholarship.up.gov.in
  2. Complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) to get your OTR ID
  3. Log in and fill the scholarship form (upload documents like Aadhaar, income certificate, mark sheet, etc.)
  4. Print your completed form. Submit a hard copy to your school or college.
  5. Track your application and scholarship status online or via the UP portal.
